    Scratchboard Activity Log

My scratchboard of the great Gene Simmons in his world famous face paint. Deciding what to do for the actual subject was almost as difficult as doing the art itself. But in the end I decided on this because of the contrast that this picture provides with the black vs white. Also because of how recognizable this image is and it is difficult to mess up such as other people would have been (Jessica Alba). Personally I think the scratchboard turned out pretty well although I would have liked for the tongue to be a little more realistic looking. Probably the most difficult part was all the careful scratching I had to do. Although I used both tools, the needle/spear object was my savior especially around the upper part when the larger implement was too blunt. About 70% of his face needing to be white didn’t help either and although I definitely missed zones, the general idea is still there and there is no question it is Gene Simmons.

    Two Point Perspective III

And here it is, the final creation, what you’ve all been waiting for, and look you even get a little bit of me in the background, aren’t you lucky. Anyway this is the final Brophy tower that I can’t believe I finished. Had major problems with there being a layer  of pencil smear that changed the look of it. But I prevailed in the end and hopefully the final grade will show the same type of achievement.

    Two Point Perspective II

Second edition and I have gotten to about here. The entire ontline of the tower and the basic idea of the lower building is on there. So overall the progress is increasing as time goes on. Pat on the back to myself.

    Two Point Perspective I

Day one of the Brophy tower drawing, not exactly where I would like to be but it’s the end result that counts I guess. I was incredibly focused on the cross and it wasn’t until the last 5 minutes that I realized that there was a whole tower to draw. Work in Progress people.

    Inside Chapel Drawing (For Nelson)

My drawing of the inside of the chapel that somehow never got graded. So now trying to show another teacher in hope of some form of a grade. Basically it is the upper half of the relief with Jesus, St. Ignatius and St. Francis Xavier.  Although this is the upper half so it is the part with the painting. There it is folks.

    One Point Perspective Hallway

My long-awaited one point perspective of the 1st floor Brophy Hall Hallway. One of the more fun drawings I’ve done, probably because I actually finished it in class. So without boring you too much, here it is, enjoy.
